Olga Alexandrovna Ilyina (nee Boratynskaya)
(1894-1991)
Olga Alexandrovna is the great-granddaughter of Evgeny Boratynsky,
daughter of the Kazan marshal of the nobility Alexander Nikolaevich
Boratynsky, wife of
Kirill Borisovich Ilyin
— brother of my grandmother
Natalya Borisovna.
Poetess, writer. Thanks to the efforts of her son Boris and the Kazan
Boratynsky Museum, two novels were published in Russian: “Dawn of the
Eighth Day” and “White Road”, where Olga Alexandrovna described in detail
her childhood, youth and the difficult road to emigration.
After the war, she corresponded with her sister-in-law
Natalya Borisovna
;
this correspondence has been preserved, but has not yet been studied.
The fact that Olga Alexandrovna’s works have become known in Russia is due
to the great contribution of the leading researcher at the museum in
Muranovo,
Svetlana Andreevna Dolgopolova
, the creator of the Boratynsky
Museum in Kazan,
Vera Georgievna Zagvozkina
, and the current director of
this museum,
Irina Vasilievna Zavyalova
. The PhD thesis of
Elena
Nikolaevna Barmina
is devoted to the work of Olga Alexandrovna.
