Petr Ivanovich's father, Ivan Karlovich (1863-1938), is the grandson of a
immigrant from Silesia, a military doctor in the Russian service, Lev
Arnoldovich Zisserman (1803-1882), who achieved by service the hereditary
Russian nobility. He received his education in the Petrovsky Poltava Cadet
Corps. Graduated from the 2nd Konstantinovsky Military School. In 1915 -
Major General. Knight of the Order of St. Stanislaus, 3rd class, St. Anne, 3rd
class. He emigrated during the revolution, ended up in Egypt, where he died.
He was buried in the Greek Orthodox cemetery of Shetbi in Alexandria.
Petr Ivanovich Zisserman was born in Kutaisi. He studied at the economics
department of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic Institute (did not graduate), then
served in the Life Guards Jaeger Regiment. He served for a short time in
Kolchak’s army, in 1920 he worked as a statistician in the Yenisey Gubernia
Regional Department, participated in the All-Russian Census of the Red Army
and Navy in the East Siberian Military District; as a former white officer was
arrested and exiled to Cherepovets, where he worked in the Gubernia
Statistical Bureau under the leadership of M.D. Semenov-Tyan-Shansky.

Having moved to Petrograd in 1923–1924, served as a statistician in the
North-West Regional Department. In October 1926, he was accepted into the
staff of the Pushkin House, where he worked until July 1930 as a research
assistant of the 2nd category.
Several of his works were published during these years in the collection
“Pushkin and His Contemporaries.” One of the articles is devoted to the
relationship between Pushkin and
Ivan Velikopolsky
— a distant relative of
Pyotr Ivanovich through his
grandmother Nadezhda Nikolaevna Moiseeva
.
In 1910-1911 Petr Ivanovich wrote memoirs about his grandfather

, calling them “Grandfather.”
Six months after the start of the “Pushkin House case,” in July 1930, after
a search in his apartment, he was arrested. As a former officer, he was
accused of participating in a non-existent "military organization". On
September 19, he was fired from the Pushkin House. Shot in May 1931.
