Gorchakovs - Rurikovichs (Olgovichs)
The direct ancestors of our family along the line of Nadezda Nikolaevna Moiseeva — the wife of Petr Alexandrovich Ilyin
Dmitry Gorchakov is a collegiate councillor,
a member of the Imperial Russian Academy, and
a famous writer. Fought near Izmail (1790), was noted
in the report of Alexander Suvorov. Provincial
prosecutor in Pskov, then in the Tauride province,
served in the Ministry
of Public Education

Kobyla, a boyar under
Ivan Kalita.
Kazan
landowner,
colonel
General of Infantry. participant in
the Patriotic War of 1812, foreign
campaigns of 1813–1814. In 1818,
commander of the 17th Jaeger
Regiment, in 1820 he was promoted
to major general. In 1829 he was
promoted to lieutenant general. In
1836 he was appointed commander
of a separate Siberian corps and
governor-general of Western
Siberia.
Wife Natalia Dmitrievna Cherevin,
daughter of Dmitry Petrovich
Cherevin and Varvara Ivanovna
Raevskaya. She had the Order of St.
Catherine.
A captain and a knight of orders, his
father had an estate in the Moscow
province. After military service, he
served as diplomat, and they lived
in Florence.
Participant in the Patriotic War of
1812, foreign campaigns of
1813–1814. During the Crimean War
from 1855 — commander-in-chief of
the Russian troops. “... of sad

L.N. Tolstoy met with M.D. Gorchakov
while serving in the Danube Army
and in Sevastopol.
Wife Agafya (Agathoclea) Nikolaevna
Bakhmeteva (1803 - 1888), daughter
of Nikolai Alekseevich Bakhmetev
and Varvara Fedorovna Nesvitskaya
Participant in the Patriotic War of 1812, foreign campaigns of 1813–1814, retired colonel. From
1833 to 1843 - manager of the Moscow Chamber of State Property. Wife Anna Aleksandrovna
Sheremetyeva (1800 - 1882), daughter of Alexander Vladimirovich Sheremetyev (1742 - 1803) and
Princess Elena Vasilievna Golitsyna (1770 - 1852).
In Moscow Sergey Gorchakov was the closest of Tolstoy’s relatives and provided patronage to
N.I. Tolstoy’s children, his nephews. Sergey Gorchakov and his family are mentioned in the
correspondence of the Tolstoy brothers, in the diary of L.N. Tolstoy 1840 - 1850s. His daughter is
Elena Sergeevna Gorchakova (04/03/1824 - 09/05/1897), maid of honor of the Supreme Court, head
of the 3rd gymnasium in Moscow.
