Velikopolskie in Kazan
This house now (Karl Marx street, 15/5)
The house of the Velikopolskys in the parish of the Vozdvizhenskaya Church
went to
Nadezhda Sergeevna Velikopolskaya (Moiseeva)
(grandmother of
Nadezhda Nikolaevna Moiseeva
, wife of
Petr Aleksandrovich Ilyin
)
by
inheritance from her aunt Lyubov Borisovna Bolkhovskaya, in the monastic
life of Sofia, abbess of the Kazan convent. We don’t know from whom Lyubov
Borisovna received the house — from her father Prince Sergey Borisovich or
from the Narmatskys, relatives of Sergey Borisovich’s first wife.
The house was built before 1774, address: corner of Vozdvizhenskaya and
Poperechnaya Kazanskaya, now Karl Marx Street, 15/5. It has been preserved
in a reconstructed form to this day; restorers discovered in it the remains of
an old house with three windows.
In 1806, Nadezhda Sergeevna sold this house to the First Men's Gymnasium,
which housed a hospital in it.
Nadezhda Sergeevna had another house in Kazan - on
Prolomnaya Street
.
